We seek an enthusiastic and team-oriented scientist to join our Cheminformatics and Machine Learning Team. This individual will directly contribute to small molecule discovery projects that advance drug candidates from hit identification through candidate nomination with a focus on protein degradation. The successful candidate will perform key research activities, including: Responsibilities applying machine learning methods to accelerate lead identification and optimization in therapeutic projects disseminating successful approaches across the computational chemistry department to enable uptake and impact across the discovery portfolio Qualifications The scientist must have broad data science knowledge with an emphasis on cheminformatics-oriented machine learning to advance multi-objective molecular design efforts (potency, ADME, safety). Expertise in generative molecular design to influence medicinal chemistry would be beneficial. The successful candidate must have a sufficient understanding of chemistry and the ability to communicate with collaborative scientists from a broad array of backgrounds. Basic Qualifications Ph.D. and no experience required, OR Master’s Degree with 3+ years of academic / industry experience, OR Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of academic / industry experience. Strong experience in AI/ML is critical, in addition to experience with cheminformatics, computational chemistry, and/or molecular modeling. Computer programming experience, especially with languages such as Python and SQL. Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. with 0- 2+ years of relevant fields with a focus in AI/ML development and applications to molecular design. Postdoctoral or industry experience a plus. Practical experience with modern ML/cheminformatics packages (PyTorch, Polars, scikit-learn, RDKit, DeepChem, OEchem) are essential, and end-to-end deployment of molecular-design models in research or production environments is a plus. Experience in the critical assessment of experimental data, large dataset handling, and chemistry representations. Demonstrated ability to leverage domain knowledge during ML model development in pursuit of novel insights. This position will operate in a multidisciplinary environment and a willingness to collaborate across functional teams is essential. An aptitude and desire to learn and apply new techniques is expected as well as personal attributes of integrity, creativity, problem solving, and a strong work ethic. Excellent communication skills are a must. Track record of publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals is a plus. Compensation and Work Model LI-Hybrid. The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience.
