Position Details Position: QA Tester Location: Westchester, IL (Near Oakbrook) Duration: 6-12 Months Rate: DOE US Citizens and Green Card holders are preferred. No 3rd party C2C accepted. Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Tester with a strong foundation in software testing best practices and standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, excellent testing skills across frontend and backend applications , and a solid understanding of integration and end-to-end testing . Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for both frontend and backend systems. Validate XML files, perform database testing (ensuring data integrity and accuracy across database tables), and verify Web API functionalities. Analyze and validate JSON file formats for proper structure and data handling. Ensure software meets business and quality requirements through thorough integration testing and end-to-end testing. Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other team members to identify and resolve issues during the development cycle. Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning and daily stand-ups, while also having familiarity with Waterfall project lifecycles. Identify and track defects, assist in troubleshooting, and ensure timely resolution of issues. Document test cases, results, and defects in a clear and organized manner. Qualifications Proven experience in QA testing (both frontend and backend). Strong knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Proficiency in XML, JSON, and Web API testing. Solid understanding of database testing (including validation of database tables and data structures). Experience with integration testing and end-to-end testing. Familiarity with test management tools and defect tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, TestRail). Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and problem-solving skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in eCommerce or POS systems. Experience in Retail, Accounting or Finance.
