The Hemberg group, part of the Gene Lay Institute at the department of neurology at Brigham and Women's Hospital and the department of immunology at Harvard Medical School in Boston ( ), is looking to hire a postdoctoral fellow. This location offers unique opportunities for scientific collaborations in a highly dynamic and interdisciplinary environment. The group's research focuses on computational genomics, primarily methods development and analysis for single-cell RNA-seq and spatial transcriptomics. We seek candidates with an interest in computational or mathematical biology. Applicants from backgrounds such as computer science, physics, chemistry, statistics, and mathematics are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will have strong quantitative skills, ideally with a solid understanding of genomics, statistics, and machine learning. Good programming skills and high motivation are also desired. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Initiate research projects in computational biology, carry them out, and publish manuscripts in international peer-reviewed journals. Maintain current programming practices while developing approaches to manage and analyze large datasets. Collaborate with researchers within and outside the group. Supervise rotation students and junior trainees. Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics, biology, or a related discipline. Experience in genomics and immunology is desirable but not required.
