Job Description:

The Set Medics seeks experienced and certified lifeguards to join our team as independent contractors for TV, film, and live event productions across the United States. As an On-Set Lifeguard, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of cast and crew members during productions near pools, waterfronts, oceans, and open water. This position requires strong swimming skills, vigilance, and the ability to remain calm under pressure in fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide lifeguard services for productions in or near pools, oceans, waterfronts, or open water environments.
• Monitor cast and crew to ensure safety during water-based scenes or activities.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, performing rescues, administering CPR, or providing first aid as necessary.
• Assess water-related safety risks and collaborate with production teams to implement preventive measures.
• Maintain and inspect lifeguard equipment, ensuring all items are in proper working order.
• Educate cast and crew on water safety protocols, hydration, and sun protection.
• Document any incidents or rescues and follow company policies for reporting.

Qualifications:

• Current lifeguard certification (American Red Cross, Ellis, or equivalent).
• Valid CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
• Previous experience as a lifeguard in pool, ocean, waterfront, or open water settings is highly preferred.
• Strong swimming ability and knowledge of water rescue techniques.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and travel to various production locations nationwide.
• Excellent observation skills, attention to detail, and quick decision-making abilities.
• Professional demeanor and ability to collaborate with production teams.
