CNC VTL Machinist (Nights)

Job Description

The Machinist is responsible for machining new and repair part products according to print specifications. The role primarily involves operating a Toshiba Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) with Fanuc controls, which features live tooling. The machinist will work on large control flow valves ranging from 40-160 inches in outer diameter and weighing between 1,000 to 10,000 pounds. Duties include setting up the machine, operating it, making necessary edits, and machining parts to a precision of +-.001. The machinist will handle various materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, Inconel, and Stellite.

Must Haves

• 5+ years of experience as a VTL machinist.
• 2+ years of mill experience.
• Proficiency in Fanuc controls.
• Experience in performing setups and edits.
• Ability to machine large parts with precision.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up Toshiba VTL with Fanuc controls.
• Handle live tooling for machining large control flow valves.
• Machine parts with precision down to +-.001.
• Work with materials such as carbon steel, stainless, Inconel, and Stellite.
• Perform setups and edits as needed.
• Operate additional machinery if applicable, including Toshiba TSS-C, Toshiba TUE-200, and Toshiba BP-150-R22.

Work Environment

The machinist will work in a clean, air-conditioned shop. There are two shifts available: a night shift from 6 pm to 6 am, Monday through Saturday, and a day shift from 6 am to 6 pm, with a schedule of 13 days on and 1 day off.

This is a Permanent position based out of Houston, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $56000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
