Japanese electronics distribution company in Long Island NY seeks Japanese Bilingual experienced and hands-on CFO to lead our company's financial operations. Reporting directly to the CEO, this position is a crucial business partner, responsible for leading all financial closing and reporting requirements, while also contributing to the overall financial strategy and value-building of the business.
This is a key leadership role with broad responsibility for guiding our accounting processes, financial strategy, and internal controls.
$150K - $200K + full benefits package
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting: Direct the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and analyses for the Executives, Board of Directors, and Shareholders.
Financial Close: Direct and lead the financial close process in compliance with US GAAP and IFRS.
External Audits: Lead and direct the US GAAP external audited financial statement process at year-end.
Internal Controls: Oversee and monitor key controls related to the financial closing and reporting process to ensure they are effective and timely.
Technical Accounting: Research new accounting pronouncements and analyze their impact on the company.
Financial Analysis: Monitor and analyze the company’s income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow.
Treasury & Compliance: Take responsibility for daily cash management, credit control, sales & property taxes, and payroll & benefits. Manage banking relationships and ensure all financial and tax compliance requirements are met.
FP&A: Lead the budget, forecast, and planning processes. Provide financial strategic planning and advisory support for new and ongoing business.
Procurement: Perform cost analyses to facilitate effective purchasing decisions and oversee the entire procurement cycle.
Team Leadership: Supervise and lead the accounting team, identifying resource requirements, training needs, and conducting performance evaluations.
Qualifications
15 - 20 years of relevant experience.
A professional accounting certification (CPA) is required.
An MBA is a plus.
Strong Experience In External Financial Statement Preparation Is Required.
A working knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS and experience managing external audits is required.
Proven experience researching, applying, and communicating accounting pronouncements.
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written & verbal), and analytical skills.
The ability to manage teams and lead through change.
